The transitional period ends at the 29 May 2002. Beyond the 29 May 2002 it is not permitted to place pressure equipment on the market of the EC, which doesnt comply with the regulations of this directive, respectively it is not permitted to trade with pres-sure equipment without CE-marking. In cooperation with the TV Rheinland/Berlin-Brandenburg, ESK began in January 2001 to certificate the ESK products by the rules of the PED. The assessment of constructional safety, manufacturing (manufacturing procedures, permanent joining) and the quality system is including in addition the German pressure vessel regulations.

In the PED, various levels of hazard are defined to classify the pressure equipment. So several conformity assessment proce-dures are necessary to certificate all classes of pressure vessels. The categories and moduls are noted in the technical data of components.

All ESK-products starting with the production year 2001 are conform to the rules of CE-marking.

The former TÜV-acceptanced components has been transfered in CE-types by CE-type-examinations in January 2001. These will be delivered with an EC Declaration of Conformity. Consequently, from January 2001 only CE-approved pressure vessels will be manufactured. There are also other modulcatagories, all other ESK-Products were classified.
